I personally do not have anything against persons with relaxers or processed hair but I need you all to understand that the chemicals and excessive heat is simply not healthy for you.

My Top Three Hairstyles

Top three 5 star hairstyles

Hey Dolls,
I just wanted to share my three favorite 'go to' hairstyles with yall.

1. HIGH PUFF

My hair gets this style more often than it should but hey........what can I say lol. I absolutely love that the high puff looks good on any hair texture as well as any length. You can also play around with it and create your unique style, for example, you can add cornrows to the front only or back only.

  
  

WOW! Can you imagine this lovely purple beauty in a high puff? I sure can!

2. PONY HAWK/FAUX HAWK

I have styled my hair in the pony hawk several times. One time I crochet weave to get a different curl pattern as well as a different hair color. I used red hair.

3. TWISTS OUT

 Although I am sure I said it already let me just take a moment to say "TWIST OUTS ARE LIFE". I know this is not the case for all naturals and I sympathize with you all but life must go on :). A twist out is the most diverse style I ever came across. It can be manipulated and styled for any occasion. Gosh I love a good twist out. It can last for up to two weeks once treated right.

Why not wear your natural hair on your wedding day?

As much the the natural hair movement is growing, a lot of women straighten their hair for their wedding day. I understand but I feel as though we can do better. Two years ago I would be thinking about the type of bundles I need for my wedding day but now I think about what natural style I can rock. So I ask.... why not wear your special hair on your special day?

Protective Styling

Protect your Hair Ladies

During my Natural journey, I repeatedly heard about protective styling. I saw some queens opposing the idea. After doing research and with the climate in Trinidad I was forced to protect my hair often. This can be done using our natural hair or adding braiding hair (weave) to help with the process. It is like killing two birds with one stone.........you can look totally awesome while protecting your hair. The best part is your natural hair does not have to be manipulated. No chemical....No heat!👍

Taraji's New Hair!

When a woman goes natural, it does not matter which part of the world she is from, the entire natural hair community feels elated but when it is a celebrity.......the feeling is sooooooo much more.

Focus on the right!

I dont know if you are a huge fan as much as I am but Taraji really made me feel some type of way. I mean I have seen her with short hair before but not this short nor this natural. This one is life!!! I cant help but wonder if I can look that fierce with a similar cut. I really want one now.

In an interview with PeopleStyle, the star said she was all about embracing her natural hair texture now "I feel like relaxing my hair for 26 years really damaged it. But its natural now, and I love it"

Taraji further stated "For Empire I use wigs. I keep my hair braided in lots of teeny cornrows so the wigs fit on my head. When I take them ut, I'll sit under a steamer while I deep-condition my hair."

Her hairstylist Wallace claimed after her made the dramatic change last month Taraji instantly fell inlove with it "She felt so free and liberated," he said

I'm inlove with it toooooo boo!

One thing your may notice or see popping up everytime you search for natural hair is 'twist out'. Achieving the perfect twist out can be difficult, it is mostly trial and error.  The day you receive the perfect twist out will be unforgettable. It is a liberating feeling..........accomplishment!
